This project to drill two 31-metre-long parallel DN 600 auger boring crossings under 4 active railway tracks is a good example. Due to the challenging site layout, both the entry and exit shafts had to be positioned within the critical zones of influence, with the entrance being between two tracks. As a result, the SNCF classified the works as a \u00ab\u00a0complex construction\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Project manager SOBECA, therefore, commissioned OPTIMUM for its auger boring expertise and in-depth knowledge of SNCF specifications and procedures :<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Validating the engineering and construction design of shafts and crossings<\/li>\n<li>Close monitoring of onsite drilling operations given the proximity of the tracks<\/li>\n<li>Verification of potential movement in the rail platform<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Drilling works \u2013 carried out by FNO \u2013 ran according to plan: the integrity of the rail platform was maintained, costs and schedules were respected.
